One Demand will not at this time have a Billy Joel song competition because I have not been able to gain permission to use the Billy Joel song "You may be right" for the competition. The plan was to allow a person or band to record and post the song with the new lyrics listed below and allow participants in One Demand to vote on which version they like the most. This would be a competition, not a contest because there is no prize.
If you want this competition to happen please inform Billy Joel through a petition or social media. The new lyrics below are only provided because if I am inviting you to influence Billy Joel on this issue then you have the right to know what it is you are supporting.
DO NOT record or perform this song with the new lyrics until we receive permission. It could violate copyright law and if Billy Joel is understanding enough to forgive the posting of the new lyrics below, individuals recording or performing these lyrics could be beyond anyone's capability to forgive and would not be helpful in our efforts to gain permission to use the song.
